  1. Easy & Quick Solutions and Assistance to Increase Voting That Are Very Simple to Implement that

  1. Registration Training and Assistance (Live Zooms, Video or In Person)

    • We will provide training for congregant leaders and volunteers with up-to-date best practices in helping people with registration and ballot applications. This includes paper and computer applications with COVID-19 protocols.
       

    • Training material will be available for printing or online. We can assist in printing if feasible.
       

  2. Follow-Up Assistance with Voters That You Have Registered

    • Voters Would Be Contacted to See If They Have Non-Partisan Questions such as Voting Process, Poll Location or Need to Know How to Get Their Vote in on Time.
       

  3. Voter Suppression and Election Protection Communications and Assistance Network

    • Receive and Share Pertinent Election Protection Information with Other Institutions and Organizations.  Organizations that Track This Can Provide Assistance. Should You and One of These Organizations Engage, We Will Monitor Actions and Results to Provide Further Assistance if Possible.
       

  4. Voter Education Including Election-Protection Education (Live Zooms, Video or In Person - with local B-PEP/EAD Trainers plus Remote Committee of 70. We will provide follow-up with trainees.)

    • Help voters understand what to do to have their vote counted. This includes helping people learn what they need to know about ballots, registration applications and others, voting eligibility, polls, provisional ballots, and planning their vote, Additionally, election protection information will be covered, including how to deal with problems at the poll, and how disinformation is used to suppress voting.
       

  5. Train New Trainers (Live Zooms, Video or In Person - with B-PEP/EAD Trainers or Committee of 70. We will provide follow-up with trainees.)

    • We will train individuals who want to become voter education trainers.
       

  6. Poll Monitoring Training (Election Protection – via Common Cause)

    •  We will provide dates and links to training to become poll monitors through Common Cause. We will assist in connecting them with a group. Poll monitors serve an essential function in helping voters having difficulty voting at the poll, reporting irregularities, and reporting potential voter intimidation or voter suppression of voters who are legally entitled to vote. 
       

  7. Phone/Text Banking Training and Programs (via Non-Partisan Collaborators)

    • If you have congregants or the people in the community who would like to participate in phone and text banking programs, EAD will connect you with non-partisan programs that can leverage your expanding-the-vote impact.
       

  8. Canvassing Training and Assistance

    • Canvassing can be a powerful voter-outreach action. If you want to leverage your voter civic engagement, we will be happy to connect you with non-partisan canvassing organizations that will train and dispatch congregants or members of your community.
       

  9. Election Transportation Pooling and Assistance

    • B-PEP Provides and Organizes Transportation for Voters in Allegheny County. B-PEP would like to extend this service to other areas where it is needed if it is feasible.
       

    • B-PEP would like to increase transportation options by working with institutions to help dispatch vehicles that they can share with B-PEP’s Roll to the Polls.
       

    • EAD is currently considering implementing a service to assist other areas with the set-up of transportation services during elections by sharing B-PEP dispatching methods and Covid-19 protocols.
       

  10. Train Groups to Set Up Voting Assistance for Hospitalized Patients (Election Day Voting)

    • Paul O’Hanlon, founder of Ballots for Patients, will help groups set up similar programs in their area. Once the hospital(s) agree, group will help patients who are not able to vote.
